UTICA, N.Y. -- A developer who's already managing three hotels within the city of Utica will soon be building one more.
On Monday, city officials announced Visions Hotels will be opening a hotel called HOME2 Suites by Hilton, meant for extended stays up to 6 months.
With more than 80 rooms, the hotel will have an indoor pool, as well as, community spaces with fire pits and outdoor grills. Stocked kitchenettes in be inclded within each room.
Mayor Robert Palmieri said this type of hotel is perfect for buisness professionals, doctors or people involved in the new nanotechnology expansions.
"They are making this their home for a period of months at a time and they want all the amenities to be as close to home as possible and this Hilton absolutely does settle that,” said Robert Palmieri, Utica Mayor.
Visions Hotels is also the company looking to purchase and revitalize the Hotel Utica building.
Mayor Palmieri said they should be closing on the sale within the next few weeks.
