NORTH COLLINS, N.Y. -- A North Collins home-building business was destroyed in an early-morning fire Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the Timberbuilt property on Eagle Road before 3:30 a.m. The shop building was already burnt to the ground by the time firefighters got there. The flames spread to the office, which is also heavily damaged.

No one was there at the time, and no one was hurt.

At least six different fire companies helped out. They said they had to deal with the cold, but that wasn't their biggest problem.

"The wind was a big factor at hampering our efforts to just extinguish the fire,” said Keith Ayers of the North Collins Fire Department.

There's no word yet what started the fire.
