The wishing wall is now in operation in Times Square.
The annual tradition allows people to write down their wishes for next year on pieces of confetti that will be used on New Year's.
The wall is located on Broadway between 42nd and 47th streets.
NY1 caught up with some New Yorkers sharing their hopes for 2016.
"I wish to be successful...world peace," said one wishing wall participant.
"I wished for family health and happiness," said another.
"What many people don't know or realize is that this is the same confetti that's going to drop from all the building tops and rooftops on midnight on New Year's Eve, so it's a great way to a part of such a long-standing tradition here in New York City," said Steve Jones of Times Square Alliance.
About 3,000 pounds of confetti will be released when the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve.
You can also submit your wish online at timessquarenyc.org. Wishes can be added until December 29th.
