The New York State Thruway Authority announced there will be no toll increases along the Thruway, including the Tappan Zee Bridge, for 2016.

This now makes it six years since the last toll increase.

The Thruway Authority also announced the creation of the New NY Bridge Toll Advisory Task force, which will report its recommendations in mid 2016.

Some changes to the timetable for the "New NY Bridge" project were also announced.

The opening of the first span, originally scheduled for December of next year, has been pushed back to the spring of 2017.

Officials say this is due to traffic pattern changes and weather concerns. They are still on track to finish the project in 2018.
