More than two dozen alleged gang members in the Bronx have been indicted on dozens of charges following a six-month investigation.
Authorities say 27 members of a Blood-affiliated gang known as "6 Wild" are responsible for several murders, attempted murders and drug-related crimes in a five-year period ending last month.
According to investigators, the gang's leader, Cesar Rivera, posted a hip-hop song on Facebook describing the gang's philosophy of having younger members commit more serious crimes because they're likely to do less prison time than their older counterparts.
Authorities also say alleged gang members 28-year-old Travis Bloch and 16-year-old Jeremiah Thomas were involved in the shooting death of 14-year-old Christopher Duran back in May.
Police say Bloch shot Duran four times outside his apartment building on Sheridan Avenue in Morrisania.
Bloch pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges. Thomas was arrested in Pennsylvania and extradited back to New York.
Investigators say both men were also involved in another shooting that injured Jorge Ortiz just one week earlier.
