One of the "Core Four" got his number retired at Yankee Stadium.

"Thank you to the best fans in the world, for encouraging me to give it all everytime I step on the field. Thank you for this honor. This is simply one of the best of my life. I love you all and thank you again," Posada said.

Former Yankees catcher Jorge Posada was honored with a plaque to be displayed in Monument Park before today's game against the Cleveland Indians.

Posada played all of his 17 seasons in pinstripes.

He was a key part of the Yankees Dynasty that dominated baseball between 1996 and 2000.

Posada was a five-time All-Star and ranks eighth on the Yankees all time home run list.
