The NYPD detective caught on video yelling at an Uber driver has been stripped of his gun and badge.
Detective Patrick Cherry is also being transferred from the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
This amateur video was captured by Sanjay Seth, a passenger in the cab.
He says the outburst happened after the Uber driver gestured that the plainclothes cop should have used his blinker to park.
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said the officer's behavior is unacceptable.
"The actions engaged in by the officer based on the video alone would indicate that those fall under the jurisdiction of CCRB and their particular areas of jurisdiction," said Bratton. "In the meantime I have modified the officer and that modification and that transfer is taking effect immediately."
The incident is now being investigated by the NYPD'S Internal Affairs Bureau and the Civilian Complaint Review Board.
