SALISBURY, N.C. -- A Salisbury man has turned himself in to police in connection with a deadly traffic crash that killed three people in late October.

Brian Hall surrendered Saturday morning. Police initially did not charge him in the wreck but he is now charged with three misdemeanor counts of death by vehicle.

According to warrants, Hall didn’t decrease speed as necessary when he collided with a vehicle with four passengers on south Jake Alexander Boulevard on Oct. 21. Hattie McCulloh, Vivian McCulloh and Davie County Teacher Lynn Tutterow died in the crash.

Hall’s failure to decrese speed is listed as cause of death. Police say the car was stopped when Hall’s truck struck it from behind.

Police say when the collision happened, the car with the four women appeared to be stopped to turn but was not in a turn lane.

Hall is out of the Rowan County Detention Center on bond.
