Brooke Brighton is a meteorologist forecasting for Spectrum News Kansas City.

Before Spectrum News, Brooke, worked as an on-air meteorologist/reporter at WMBD 31 and WYZZ 43 News, a TV station in Peoria, Illinois. She will forever be #CIProud of her time in Central Illinois and getting to know the wonderful people who live there.

Although Brooke is a B1G Ten supporter and will continue to cheer on the Wisconsin Badgers, Brooke attended Ohio State University where she studied Agricultural Communication and Atmospheric Sciences. With that agricultural element, Brooke is fascinated with the dairy industry that is so important for farmers in the Midwest. Brooke would love to visit farms around the state and get to know their story.

Brooke was a weather intern at both ABC7 Chicago and NBC4 Columbus. In recognition of her work at ABC and NBC, Brooke received an "Outstanding Internship" award from her college at OSU.

Brooke loves the outdoors and when not at work, she enjoys working out (especially kickboxing), chasing storms, hiking, and shooting nature photography. Although passionate about all sports, Brooke has spent many hours on the basketball court and played on several championship basketball teams (she is always down for a free-throw competition).
