GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers will try to put their four-game losing streak behind them when they play Sunday at Detroit. If they’re going to turn the season around, they’ll have to do it with the roster they have.

The Packers didn’t make a trade before Tuesday’s NFL deadline. Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said he was focused on preparing for the Lions and didn’t push for a move.

“We need to win games, and we need to do whatever it takes to win games,” said LaFleur.“We need to win games, and we need to do whatever it takes to win games,” said LaFleur. “I don’t think anybody’s happy with where we’re at. I know I’m certainly not, and I don’t think anybody in that locker room is. If we focus on things that are irrelevant, what good are we doing? We’ve got to focus on the task at hand.”

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers also had some thoughts on the lack of trades.

“We didn’t subtract either,” said Rodgers. “I think that’s a really important point to make, you know. So obviously, the organization, the third floor, believes that we have the right guys in place to win. There’s no tanking. There’s no rebuild. This is a team that is expected to get the job done.”

Rodgers added that it’s on them as players and coaches to make sure they’re doing everything they can.

“Brian (GM Brian Gutekunst) didn’t think that whatever was out there was worth whatever was required to give up,” he said.

Rodgers was at practice Wednesday, unlike the last three weeks when he got therapy for his thumb.

The Packers are trying to avoid their first five-game losing streak since 2008. That was Rodgers’ first year as a starter and a season where the Packers finished 6-10.

“We need our guys to play it just a tick higher,” said Rodgers. “I think all of us. That’s what we did in 2016 (the ‘run the table’ year). It wasn’t like we really added anybody to the mix.”

“We’ve displayed, at times, some good level of football,” said LaFleur of the team. “It’s just been too inconsistent and I don’t think it’s been complimentary football all the time.”

Offensive linemen David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins, along with linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, did not practice Wednesday. Running back Kylin Hill was activated off the Physically Unable to Perform List, coming off an ACL injury.

While the Lions’ defense has been a sieve, the Detroit offense is potent and could put the Packers’ defense in some trouble on Sunday.

We’re going to keep working through this, stay together, not point the fingers and get better each day.“We’re staying strong,” said Packers defensive end Dean Lowry. “I think it speaks to the character we have in our defense. We’re going to keep working through this, stay together, not point the fingers and get better each day.

Former Packers running back Jamaal Williams has been a scoring machine for the Lions. He has eight rushing touchdowns already this season.

“I think it’s more or less the opportunity,” said LaFleur regarding Williams’ performance with Detroit. “I think he’s had more opportunities there, and he’s done a great job with it. Jamaal’s a guy that I’ve got so much respect for. I love his whole approach, how he brought energy every day. He did everything he could. He was a great teammate. He’s tough as nails. I’m happy for him. I just hope he doesn’t have a great game vs. us.”

“Jamaal is really a good player,” added Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark. “I just love his energy and what he brings to the game, but we gotta keep the dancing and all the talk to a minimum. He plays his butt off. He plays as hard as anybody on that field. He’s hard to bring down.”
