The conclave is underway as cardinals from all around the world elect a new pope.
The process is carefully choreographed as the 133 voting eligible cardinals are sequestered inside the Vatican. The cardinals pray, discern and vote for the next pope without distraction.
They hosted their first and only vote of the day on Wednesday. A two-thirds majority is required for a new pope to be elected.
Voting sessions this week will occur regularly in the morning and afternoon until a pope is selected.
Father Robert Sirico, priest and president Emeritus of the Acton Institute, joined “The Rush Hour” on Wednesday to share insight in the secret process, and how long the conclave may take.
