OHIO — Members of the 6-State Trooper Project will be watching I-75 heading into Valentine's Day weekend.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will join Project members from the Kentucky State Police and Michigan State Police to focus on speed, safety belt and OVI enforcement.
Beginning on Friday, Feb. 14, officials will conduct a three-day initiative through Sunday, Feb. 16.
Other members of the 6-State Trooper Project, including Indiana State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and West Virginia State Police, will not participate in this endeavor.
Last year, during the same initiative, there were 454 drivers cited for speed violations and 44 for safety belt infractions. Patrol also charged six with OVI.
