TEXAS — With just a few more months to go until Election Day in the U.S., it is important to know when the last day is to register to vote.

When is the last day to register to vote?

The last day to register to vote for the general election on Nov. 5 is on Oct. 7, 2024, just six weeks away. This includes in-person and mail-in registration, according to the Texas Secretary of State.

Early voting for the general election begins on Monday, Oct. 21 and ends on Friday, Nov. 1.

How do I register to vote?

Currently in Texas, voters can only register to vote by mail or in person. The application for registration can be found here, printed off and mailed to your county election office at least 30 days before Election Day.

To register in person, you can visit your local Voter Registrar in your county.

If you’re not already registered to vote but have an existing Texas driver's license or state identification card, you can register to vote online when renewing, replacing or changing your contact information through the Texas Department of Public Safety.

While you can’t register to vote online in Texas, you can update your voter registration information.

If your voter registration is in suspense, it means your county of registration has received information that you no longer live at the address on your current voter registration record.
