Here are 10 events happening across Maine this weekend: 

Friday, Nov. 5

portBOWIE – A Celebration of David Bowie
Featuring complete 50th anniversary live performances of “The Man Who Sold The World” and “Hunky Dory,” get your tickets for the ultimate David Bowie celebration. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the Portland House of Music box office. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music kicks off at 8. Get your tickets in advance on the venue’s website

If you want to keep the rock and roll train going all weekend long, Aura is hosting the tribute concert "Dirty Deeds – The AC/DC Expierence" Saturday night. You must be 18 or older to attend. Buy your tickets online, here

One Team Scavenger Hunt — Portland
Take part in an adventure that's a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race and an informative self-guided tour. Each adventure consists of a series of locations where you are required to answer questions or solve puzzles to receive your next instruction. Look for clues as a group or individually, all of the adventures are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages. All you need is a mobile device and an internet connection. Each adventure is self-guided, so you can participate any time, any day this weekend. Saturday, Nov. 6

L/A Backyard Beer Fest
Head to Lost Valley in Auburn to try craft brews during the second annual L/A Backyard Beer Fest. Try samplings from local breweries and cider makers from the greater Androscoggin County area. Your ticket gives you a 3-hour or 4-hour session of unlimited 4-ounce pours from an array of breweries. Enjoy live music and entertainment, as well as food from local vendors. The beer fest follows the Lost Valley 5K Relay Trail Race. Entry is limited to 500 people, so purchase your tickets in advance on Baxter Outdoor’s website.

Fermented Sodas Workshop
Learn how to incorporate fall fruits and herbs into delicious and thirst-quenching drinks during the fermented sodas workshop in Scarborough. Learn how to ethically harvest wild fruit, safely prepare containers for fermentation and take home a pint of soda to ferment yourself. The workshop teaches you how to understand the herbal properties of the ingredients and how to adapt and make your own recipes at home. Advanced Paint Class with the Masters

Whether you’re an experienced artist or a dabler, you’ll enjoy the Mystical Rose Retreat in West Newfield. Tucked away at a farm along the Little Ossipee River, enjoy a zen atmosphere during an advanced paint class. Classes start at 2 p.m. and all materials are provided. Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon & 5K

Lace up your running shoes and head to the Old Port for the annual Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon and 5K. Enjoy spectacular views as you run along the picturesque waterfront of Casco Bay. Cross the finish line at the heart of Portland’s historic Old Port district and get rewarded with stylish race swag, refreshments and a commemorative medal (the medal is only for half-marathoners). All-Star Boxing Returns
The Portland Expo presents the Portland Boxing Club’s All-Star boxing event. Watch professional and amateur stars from the Portland club and across New England as they compete in the 105th event in Portland since the club’s inception 27 years ago. Bouts start at 7:30 p.m. and the doors open at 6 p.m. Buy your tickets in advance on Eventgroove.

Learn to Curl
Ever wanted to try curling? Now is your chance at the Belfast Curling Club’s “Learn to Curl” event. You might not be an Oympian on your first try, but the club is always looking for new members. Before you head to 211 Belmont Ave. in Belfast, make sure to register online for Saturday’s sessions. Walk-ins are not permitted at this time. 

Sunday, Nov. 7

Portland Maine Wedding Show
Get a jump-start on planning your dream wedding at the annual Wedding Show at the Doubletree in Portland. Enjoy browsing wedding vendors and taking advantage of deals that will sweep you off your feet — again! This show is for everyone involved in wedding planning and promises to help make your big day “a piece of cake.” Join in on the fun for a chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes, raffles and giveaways from local wedding vendors. Guided Walk: Interpreting Natural Communities & Ecosystems
Can you differentiate one type of forest or wetland from another? What plants, patterns and features are used to categorize them? And why is this information important? Learn how to recognize the many different natural communities and ecosystems across Maine during a guided tour with ecologist Kristen Puryear at the Cathance River Nature Preserve in Topsham. Learn to “read” the landscape around you and how to conserve Maine’s ecosystems. This event is free and open to Cathance River Education Alliance members and the general public. Registration is required in order to attend.
