Hailing from Maine's 1st District, Senate President Troy Jackson was inspired to run for office to help represent everyday people, giving a voice to the working class in his district. The biggest thing he's learned during his time in office is that policy gets enacted by the people who show up and put in the time and effort to effect change.

Jackson's biggest accomplishment so far is working on a bill to provide universal school meals. One thing he would say his district does better than anywhere else is work hard and lend a helping hand.

In three words, Jackson would describe his district has "hardworking, honest, and thoughtful." On his commute, he enjoys listening to 1980s rock music.
