KENTUCKY — COVID-19 continues to affect almost every industry in the Commonwealth in various ways.

Apple orchards and pumpkin picking are popular fall festivities at farms in Kentucky that are already seeing a major change in operations this year.

During this In Focus Kentucky segment, Evans Orchard and Cider Mill Fruit & Vegetable Store in Scott County shares COVID-19 has made opening up their farm difficult to the public.

Also earlier this summer, Governor Andy Beshear announced a new push to make Kentucky the Agritech capital of the United States. During this segment, we explain how the newly created agritech advisory council is working to produce more Kentucky jobs tied to farm technology and manufacturing. And some Kentucky farmers are already reaping the benefits.

Dr. Will Snell, a professor at the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky also joins In Focus Kentucky to share a few thoughts on COVID-19’s impact on the bluegrass state’s agriculture industry.
