The nightly full closure of Moanalua Freeway (H-201) from the Middle Street overpass to the Fort Shafter/Kaua Street on-ramp for repaving and pavement preservation is being extended through March 28, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation.

Originally scheduled to finish by March 13, HDOT says weather affected eight days of work. The new March 28 extension is weather permitting and excludes holidays. Work hours are 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday.

During the closure, westbound motorists will be detoured via the Middle Street off-ramp (Exit 19A) from the westbound Moanalua Freeway to the Fort Shafter/Kaua Street on-ramp to re-enter the freeway.
