SANTA MONICA, Calif. — A fire prompted closure of a section of the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway Wednesday in Santa Monica, snarling traffic for about three hours.
The fire was reported at about 7:30 a.m. near Fourth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The eastbound freeway was closed between the McClure Tunnel and Lincoln Boulevard, the CHP reported and traffic was routed around the area.
The lanes were reopened at about 10:30 a.m., the CHP reported.
