An exceptionally hot day anticipated for us as afternoon high temperatures range between the lower to middle 90s for most, including the coast.
Afternoon feel-like temperatures, due to high humidity, will range between 102° and 107° with many of us on the cusp of issuing heat advisories. Please be sure to take the proper precautions in dealing with this substantial heat across Central Florida today.
The afternoon will yield an opportunity for showers and thunderstorms, mainly developing to the interior of Central Florida starting up between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and continuing into the early and mid evening.
Severe thunderstorms are not expected, however, strong thunderstorm cells producing gusts up to 45 mph are possible and even a rogue severe thunderstorm is not something to rule out.
Temperatures will remain hot and exceptionally steamy for the rest of the weekend with a slight increase in rain. Chances ranging between 50% and 60% into the start of next week.
At this time in the tropics, there is no development anticipated through the next seven days.
