Its foster care program has about 60 kids waiting to welcomed into a family. Officials with St. Joseph Orphanage say they’ve seen an increased in need for foster parents at its two locations in Cincinnati and Dayton. Foster Home Assessor Bobbi Schreiner knows just about every kid in their care. She says most kids in the foster care system come from bad situations and have experienced traumatic situations. Schreiner says Ohio’s opioid epidemic has contributed to the influx in children who fall into the system and the need for foster parents is great.
