RALEIGH -- Ira David Wood III's beloved musical comedy, A Christmas Carol, celebrates its 42nd Anniversary this year.

The show has been performed annually since 1974 and has been named one of the "Top 20 Events in the Southeast." The long-running show has enjoyed critically acclaimed tours to England and France, and over the next few weeks, families in the Tar Heel state can enjoy multiple performances in Durham and Raleigh.

Our Caroline Blair goes In Depth with Wood for a glimpse inside this timeless masterpiece.

A Christmas Carol will return to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh Dec. 7 -11, and the Durham Performing Arts Center Dec. 15- 18.
