Skies will be partly sunny to kick off our Friday, but storms will be scattered about during the afternoon, offering some temporary cooling from highs peaking in the low 90s.
Cells will initiate near the east coast and drift inland with the east coast sea breeze, focusing from Interstate 4 west by the evening commute; any cell may contain strong winds, frequent lightning, and very heavy rainfall, but coverage will be a bit lower than recent days, at 40%.
High pressure will build in over the weekend and last next week, causing rain chances to dip to the 30% range. Although coverage will be less, there still will be the risk for some cells here and there so it's important to remember during your Father's Day Weekend plans, when thunder roars, go indoors.
