Abbey joined Spectrum News 1 in August of 2021 and is excited to call the Hudson Valley home. After being born in south New Jersey, and moving to Maryland shortly after, friends are always quick to call her out on her allegiance to Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore. Although not from the area, she immediately felt right at home in the Hudson Valley, telling her family that it feels exactly like the landscape and community that she grew up in.

Previous to Spectrum News 1, Abbey spent 5 years with ESPN in Bristol, Conn., producing content for the SportsCenter brand on all platforms. But she knew this was the career for her much before that. Abbey picked up her first mic in her sophomore year of high school and never looked back. Sharing the stories of others in her community is second-nature, and a privilege she loves to have. She continued her education at Ohio University, with the Scripps School of Journalism, where she received a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism, specializing in visual communications and social media.

When not chasing down a story, you can find Abbey exploring and getting some exercise in. She’s convinced that moving her body is the best way to stay motivated, so catch her in a yoga class, on a run or lifting weights at the gym. After a 10-year gymnastics career, falling in love with MLB and her Phillies in the fall of 2008, sports became a way of life in the Carnivale home. She'll be at a stadium any chance she can get. That being said, change is great, and she’s excited for the new challenge that working in news presents.
