PHILADELPHIA - After a raucous first day of the Democratic National Convention, delegates are working toward finding unity for the rest of the week.

For North Carolina’s delegate, that includes finding issues they can all rally behind.

There are a lot of issues that folks on both sides of the aisle will be debating this election season.

And for the North Carolina delegation Tuesday morning, they were concentrating on support for veterans.

Will Fischer, the Executive Director of the Union Veterans Council, spoke to the group at their daily breakfast, firing up the crowd over issues surrounding those who have served our country.

He told the delegates he believes the positions of Republicans have been an attack on veterans, making it more difficult to get jobs and healthcare.

He also said he believes the Trump/Pence ticket is openly hostile to veterans.

“The veteran class is the working class.  An attack on workers is an attack on veterans. Not just in some sectors of work, but all sectors of work. Not just in some states, but in all states. Not just sometimes, but each and every single time,” said Fischer.

Tuesday is a big day for both the convention and Hillary Clinton.

There will be a roll call vote of the states which will be the official nomination of Clinton for president.

She will be the first woman to get a major party nomination for the nation's top office.
