Before a crowd of roughly 20,000 people, local artists and hometown celebrities helped warm up the crowd for Democrat Bernie Sanders.

Striking his usual populist tone, the Vermont Senator played to the young audience in Brooklyn, reminding them that he has won eight of the last nine caucuses and primaries — and he's done it with grassroots money only.

"In the last year, we have received 7 million individual campaign contributions," Sanders said. "That is more campaign contributions than any candidate in the history of the United States of America."

Sanders also hit rival Hillary Clinton on a familiar theme, her vote to authorize the 2003 Iraq War. Sanders voted against it.

"Then Senator Clinton heard the same evidence I did. She voted for that disastrous war," the Vermont Senator said. "The worst  foreign policy blunder in the modern history of America."

Supporters packed the park on what turned out to be a beautiful spring day, hoping to help Sanders get out the vote Tuesday.

"He is the true American hero," said one supporter. "To me and to my 14-year-old son who deserves a fair chance at a good education, college, everything like that and I hiss live what he stands for. He has been in the fight since day one."

"Well, we are Brooklynites," said another. "And we have been supporting him since he announced his campaign. He's just the only choice."

A NY1 poll showing Clinton with a 13 point lead over Sanders. Another poll showing her ahead of 17. But Sanders trying to hit home the point that he's the candidate going into Tuesday's primary with momentum.
