Hillary Clinton won the Democratic presidential primaries in Massachusetts, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, while Bernie Sanders won in his home state of Vermont, as well as the primary in Oklahoma and the caucuses in Minnesota and Colorado, according to the Associated Press.

Clinton decried the GOP for "turning its back'' on America's working and middle class citizens. She criticized what she called the angry, divisive rhetoric from the Republican front-runner, Donald Trump, though she did not name him.

On the Republican side of the aisle, Trump won the presidential primaries in Arkansas, Virginia, Massachusetts, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, according to the AP.

Sen. Ted Cruz won his home state of Texas and neighboring Oklahoma, winning his second and third states following a win in Iowa in January, accounting for Trump's only losses so far for the Republican nomination.

Sen. Marco Rubio notched his first win in this election, winning the Minnesota caucus.

During his speech, Cruz strongly suggested John Kaisich and Rubio should drop out so the anti-Trump factions could coalesce around him.

Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham says the only way to stop Trump from becoming the GOP nominee and winning the general election may be to rally behind Cruz.

"Ted Cruz is not by favorite by any means,'' Graham, a former candidate, told CBS News on Super Tuesday, when a dozen states held contests to choose party nominees. "But we may be in a position where rallying around Ted Cruz is the only way to stop Donald Trump and I'm not so sure that would work.''
