Two Men Charged with Assault and Ha­rassment After Tangling with Off-Duty Cop at Manhattan Bar

Two Long Island men are facing charges after police say they assaulted an off-duty NYPD officer.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Little West 12^th Street near 10^th Avenue.

Cops say 24-year-old Officer Timothy Keane was trying to break up a fight outside the Brass Monkey bar when the men attacked him.

23-year-old Matthew Tacktill and 23-year-old Thomas Gagliardi are facing assault and harassment charges.

Keane was taken to the hospital where he's expected to be okay.
