A Saugerties man accused of stabbing another man to death now faces a murder charge in Ulster County Court.

An Ulster County grand jury handed down a second-degree murder indictment against 26-year-old Earl Edwards, Jr. He's accused of killing 40-year-old Rameen Perry last month.

Perry was found unconscious with stab wounds in a Malden Avenue home. The medical examiner said Perry died from a stab wound to the chest. Edwards was taken into custody that same day while on a passenger train in Washington, D.C.

Edwards will be arraigned on June 9.
