AKRON, Ohio — We might just be a few days into 2021, but one Akron-based company is bringing the 80s and 90s back.
Ben Hyle is the owner of Hyland Throwbacks — a vintage resale store that specializes in items that give you a nostalgic feeling.
"It’s honestly just a really fun thing. Just finding something old, you know, something old that you can relate to and you can cherish for that matter. It’s really fun," said Hyle.
For Hyle, Hyland Throwbacks is about more than just trendy clothes. It's about helping the environment.
"Basically, there is enough clothes for everyone on the earth right now now to be wearing new clothes every day if they stopped production right now for the rest of our lives. They don’t have to make anything, and there would just be more than enough.”
Hyle adds that shopping vintage gives customers a chance to be unique and own a rare item of clothing.
"Not only are (the clothes) perfectly fine, they are cooler than what's being made today if you ask me.”
Hyland Throwbacks has two locations — one in Akron and one in Lakewood.
