Getting from here to there and back again in the last several years has become more of a struggle across the Sunshine State. And it's no wonder — we've heard the estimates for the last five years or so that 1,000 people moving to Florida every day.
And guess where they are?
On the road right in front of you going along with traffic at a whopping 5 miles per hour. But now, a new way for residents to move around is coming to Seminole County.
The Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to award a contract to Freebee — a microtransit service out of South Florida. It works as an on-demand service, similar to Uber or Lyft.
We talk to leaders and riders about this change, where commissioners say the goal is to make transportation more effective.
