COLUMBUS, Ohio — A new exhibit is coming to Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, using LEGOs to explore nature.
"Sean Kenney's Nature Connects Made with LEGO Bricks" is an award-winning and record-breaking exhibit that showcases animal endangerment, ecosystems and how humans interact with nature. The exhibit is produced by Imagine and depicts topics from protecting natural habitats to planting gardens.
The displays feature balance, both between the LEGO pieces and nature's own intricate balance.
The exhibit opens on May 31 and runs through Sept. 7.
Besides the exhibition, builders of all ages can explore their own creativity through the Brick Build Gallery, which will be open at the same time as the exhibit.
Franklin Park Conservatory is also hosting its first building block competition where creators can submit their pieces inspired by botanical, art, exhibition or nature-themed entries. Creations mst be submitted between July 18 to July 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A form for the contest can be found by clicking here.
Following a creative theme, Conservatory Explore: Brick Nights will feature specific themes popular with brick builders during these special engagement evenings. The evenings run on specific dates from June to September from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with themes such as sports, fantastical creatures, video games and even "Star Wars."
