Spectrum News NY1 is kicking off its primary debate season with a series of Democratic primary debates for borough president.

All the debates will air in the 7 p.m. hour on Spectrum News NY1:

  • Friday, May 30 — A debate between three candidates in the race for Manhattan borough president
  • Tuesday, June 3 — A debate between two candidates in the race for Brooklyn borough president

The week after the Brooklyn borough president debate, Spectrum News NY1 will host debates in the race for city comptroller and mayor.

The leading candidates in the Democratic primary for city comptroller will square off on June 10, and the leading candidates in the Democratic primary for mayor will face off in a debate on June 12, just two days before early voting starts.

The city comptroller debate and mayoral debate will both air starting at 7 p.m. They are co-hosted by WNYC Radio/Gothamist and the news site The City, along with the New York City Campaign Finance Board.

Viewers can also watch the debate on the Spectrum News app and our YouTube channel, without a paywall.
