Casey Weldon is a digital reporter who covers southwest Ohio. A native of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Casey moved to Cincinnati in 2001 to attend Xavier University.

Prior to coming to Spectrum News 1, Casey helped direct communications for the City of Cincinnati for several years. In that role, he handled media relations and press events for the City Manager’s Office and other city departments. He worked closely with the city’s cable news network, CitiCable.

After leaving City Hall, Casey worked briefly in public relations before being called back to the newsroom.

Casey has covered the greater Cincinnati region for a variety of news outlets over the years. He began as a freelancer for the Cincinnati Post, later worked in the Sports Department for the Cincinnati Enquirer, and then as web editor and feature writer at WCPO-TV.

While at WCPO-TV, Casey edited and wrote for the station’s regional Edward R. Murrow Award-winning website. He covered topics ranging from sports and the arts to politics and the local brewery industry.

A downtown resident, Casey is a big fan of the local food scene. You can often find him at a Cincinnati park or taking photos and exploring one of the city’s 52 neighborhoods.
