A slow moving area of low pressure will keep rain in our forecast through the night.
After tonight's rain, we'll see a lesser chance of showers on Friday. That chance of showers will continue to decrease into the weekend.
The flood threat for the western parts of the state has ended as of Thursday evening.
The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Watch into early Friday morning for parts of central and eastern North Carolina.

This watch means that localized flooding is possible in the watch area and that low-lying and flood-prone areas stand the greatest risk of seeing flooding. An additional inch or more of rain is possible through the night. This could be enough to trigger some flooding in a few areas.
