Alex Wilkinson interned for Spectrum News 1 North Carolina in Raleigh in her last semester of college. She joined Spectrum full-time in June 2022, based in Wilmington. 

In college, Alex specialized in sports broadcasting with the ACC Network, ESPN, and Pack Pride. Her first experience with news came with her internship with Spectrum News 1, and her love for news has only grown since.

Alex hopes to highlight athletics and the local communities in Wilmington through her storytelling.

One of Alex's passions is telling amazing stories about interesting people in North Carolina, and giving them a voice to be heard.

As an N.C. State track and cross country alum, Alex hopes to explore the running communities in Wilmington and the coastal region.
