A Syracuse barber shop wants to give the community more than just haircuts.

“The Wright Cut” barber shop on South Salina Street says they want to expose local families and kids to art.

The owner Wayne Wright is an art lover, and thought the shop was the perfect place to display some, so he decided to help promote local minority artists.

Through word of mouth and social media requests, he says the art work poured in and has already filled the two walls of his shop. Wright says he is blown away by the submissions.

"It's been an awesome experience. I didn't even know there were that many African-American artists here. And some of the work that I have been receiving is just phenomenal. When you see it yourself, you can't beat this work anywhere," Wright said.

The shop will be holding a meet and greet with the artists Sunday, March 24 at 5 p.m.
