Young entrepreneurs are trying to reach Syracuse's next generation.

For six years, Good Life Youth Foundation has been teaching teens about finances and entrepreneurship. On Saturday, mentees were able to put their new skills into practice at a networking event.

Leaders feel that one of the biggest reasons behind the violence in Syracuse is a lack of identity. Their mission is to keep children off the streets and find their sense of purpose.

"A organization that teaches about entrepreneurship can literally connect the innate and natural characteristics that they already have and connect that to business," said Hasan Stephens, Good Life Philanthropic Youth Foundation Founder and CEO.

"I want to let the youth know that there are experiences other than being an athlete, being in a gang, going to crime," said Keonna Yearwood, personal chef.

The foundation offers a number of programs and services.
