In Focus is celebrating Pride Month, with a focus on the organizations that are serving the LGBTQ+ community year-round. Perry Junjulas is executive director of the Albany Damien Center, which provides housing and other services to members of the LGBTQ+ community living with HIV and AIDS. He joins the show to speak with JoDee Kenney about the importance of organizations like the Damien Center for communities across the state. Junjulas says certain issues are common, not just in Albany but in many urban areas, like a high proportion of transgender people experiencing homelessness. He also talks about laws that can be improved to create more equality for the community, and how people outside the community can show their support to the LGBTQ+ people in their lives.
