BUFFALO, N.Y. — For 504 days, Shea’s was on an extended intermission due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of July, theatre-goers were thrilled to once again come together to see shows. The very first post-pandemic performance was "The Music of Disney" on Broadway.

Disney’s "Frozen" is coming to Shea’s from Sept. 10-24, with a star who calls Western New York his home.

What You Need To Know

  • Shea’s was on an extended intermission for more than 500 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming shows in July

  • Disney's Frozen is coming to Shea’s from Sept. 10-24.

  • Western New Yorker Robert Creighton is playing Weselton

“I had lived a long time in New York City, so moving anywhere was going to be traumatic,” Robert Creighton said. “When we moved here before the start of this past school year, it turned out to be the best decision ever. My wife grew up here. My kids are going to the amazing elementary school in Snyder that she went to. Her parents live here.”

Being able to play Weselton in Buffalo is special for him.

“Then "Frozen" followed me to Buffalo, which is the craziest thing,” Creighton explained. “I’m getting to play my role that I played for two years on Broadway.”

He offered what spectators can expect from the performance.

“There is glorious music, incredible dancing, but I think what people don’t expect is the emotional impact that they’ll feel from the show,” Creighton said.
