The Working Families Party has endorsed Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani as its number one pick in the upcoming ranked-choice Democratic primary.
The party had previously named its preferred candidates. On Friday, it released the order in which it is endorsing them.
Following Mamdani in first, the progressive coalition ranked City Comptroller Brad Lander second, followed by City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Brooklyn state Sen. Zellnor Myrie and Queens state Sen. Jessica Ramos.
Democratic voters have the option to rank up to five candidates on their primary ballot, but can rank fewer if they choose.
At the announcement, Mamdani seemed to take digs at another mayoral candidate, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
"It is an honor to receive this endorsement, just two weeks from when New Yorkers will start heading to the polls. Because what New Yorkers will face in that moment is a choice of whether they want to return to the politics of the past, of big money and small vision, of corrupt leadership, or whether they want to turn to a new generation of leadership, leadership that puts working people first," he said.
Cuomo was absent from the Working Families Party's ballot.
A recent Emerson College poll showed Mamdani in second place behind Cuomo. Taking ranked-choice ballots into account, the former governor leads Mamdani by nearly nine percentage points.
