ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills' newest signing, fullback Jerome Felton, was introduced Wednesday at One Bills Drive hours after another former Minnesota Viking, quarterback Matt Cassel.
Felton was a 2012 Pro Bowler and opened lanes for running back Adrian Peterson during his MVP season. Now his running backs include veteran leader Fred Jackson and newly-acquired LeSean McCoy.
"He’s cut from the same type of cloth Adrian is. I told him life is going to get easier now and I can assure him that," said Felton, a seven-year veteran. "It’s going to be fun to play with him and we’re both excited. I’m looking forward to it."
Felton said that Cassel was an off-the-field leader for the Vikings and helped mentor a young quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater.
"When I saw that he was coming here, it just made me more excited. Everything I have seen the Buffalo Bills do, it just got my excitement levels higher, higher and higher," Felton said.
"From the ownership to the head coach to the general manager, everybody. Everybody is on the same page and that is what is so exciting about being here. Meeting everybody yesterday and talking to them and seeing how excited they are about what they’re doing and what we’re going to do in the future. It’s just an exciting time to be a Buffalo Bill.
"The fans can rest assured that they’re here to win now and that is the only option."
