AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that happened Thursday in northwest Austin.

The robbery occurred about 1:15 p.m. at the Prosperity Bank located in the 3400 block of Northland Drive. 

Police described the suspect as white, in his 40s, 5 feet tall with a medium build and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, baseball hat with a curved bill, reflective sunglasses, black pants and dark tennis shoes.

On Jan. 25, the Chase Bank at the intersection of Northland Drive and Balcones Drive was robbed. The suspect in that robbery fled on foot. It is unclear if it is the same bank that was robbed Thursday.
