OCALA, Fla. — The City of Ocala Water Resources Department on Thursday canceled the boil water notice issued for customers between NE 23rd St. and NE 14th St., West of NE 30th Ave., and East of NE 22nd Ave., earlier this week.

A contractor had hit a water main, causing a break and spurring officials to issue the alert.

A bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, officials said.

Customers no longer need to boil water for drinking water, brushing teeth, cooking, drinking, making ice, washing dishes or for food preparation.
