PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Two people were injured and a gunman was found dead after a shooting in Volusia County, according to the Port Orange Police Department.
Police responded to an active shooting call at the Walgreens located at 1625 Taylor Road just before 5:30 p.m. The store is just west of I-95.
Police say a male shooter opened fire inside the store, injuring two Walgreens employees. Both victims were transported to the hospital. It is unknown what their injuries are.
One customer was inside the store at the time of the shooting, but police say they were not hurt.
Officers found the male suspect in the parking lot with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
At this time, police say they are not releasing the identifies of the victims and shooter until all families have been notified.
Spectrum News crews saw the store blocked off for multiple hours and a white van towed away from the scene. Law enforcement officers remained outside the store.
