Many New Yorkers have recently reported they've been on the receiving end of scam attempts, specifically one claiming recipients owe money for overdue E-ZPass payments or tolling charges.

Experts say scams like these tend to pick up right after a holiday where a lot of people travel, like Memorial Day weekend.

John Harabuda, a scam expert from Transaction Network Services, joined anchor Stef Manisero to discuss how to avoid falling victim to these scams.
