Edric Robinson was born and raised in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Edric joined NY1 in November of 2017 as a freelance news assistant and was hired as a full-time staff member on the Live at Ten nightly newscast within two months. In this role, he covered breaking news stories like the 2017 tragic Bronx fire that killed 13 people, the 2018 murder of 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz and the 2020 Black Lives Matter Protests.
He also produced a NY1 series called "Unfiltered," which featured iconic city stories that largely go by unnoticed.
Edric’s signature interview style has been a standout on air as he brings out the humanity in the headlines.
Edric earned his master’s degree from the Columbia Journalism School and his bachelor’s degree from Howard University. He is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
In his spare time, he enjoys cooking with his young daughter Sanaa, watching track and field events, traveling and eating as many fried plantains as possible.
