A father and son were hit by BB gun pellets on Staten Island Sunday afternoon outside a kosher supermarket, according to authorities.

Police say the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. at 2212 Victory Blvd.

The father, 37, and his 7-year-old son were both wearing yarmulkes at the time of the attack, police said.

The BB pellets grazed the child in the ear and struck the father in the chest, according to police. Both were treated by EMS personnel at the scene of the attack.

Police say a suspect in a black car fired the shots while speeding by.

Authorities say the incident is being investigated by the Hate Crimes Task Force and no arrests have been made thus far.‚Äč
