The MTA has released a plan to completely redesign the Queens bus network.

It aims to speed up bus routes, which have largely gone unchanged for 100 years.

The plan calls for new routes designed to avoid narrow streets, straighter routes with fewer left turns, and spacing out the schedule to avoid multiple buses arriving at the same time.

When surveying riders, the MTA said many people complained about having to stand outside for long periods without any buses arriving, only for a handful to all show up all at once.

The agency wants to shorten routes, so buses won't get caught in traffic while traveling long distances.

The proposed final plan is expected to be released mid-way through 2020.
