NEW YORK — Over 4,600 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in New York City in the past 24 hours, and there were 261 new hospitalizations.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Saturday released the latest coronavirus numbers for the city and the state.
Per the mayor's office, here in the city, the seven-day average positivity rate is 8.57%.

Cuomo reports the statewide positivity rate is 4.75%, up from 4.65% the day before.
Statewide, 8,176 people are hospitalized across the state, with 1,551 patients in ICUs and 1,017 intubations. On Friday, 140 people in the state died of COVID-19.
Additionally, the governor said 91% of first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine allocated to New York state have been administered as of 11 a.m. Saturday.
More than 1.3 million first doses have been administered in the state overall, along with more than 282,000 second doses.
