EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Eau Claire Police Department said Leo Lacy is now in custody, after officers were looking for him Friday afternoon. Officers said he was potentially armed and dangerous.
Police said Lacy is wanted for recklessly endangering safety from a previous case. Officers said when they attempted contact with him, he fled into a neighborhood.
Police were searching Eau Claire’s East Hill neighborhood, with a large presence near Margaret Street.
During the search, police had advised everyone residing in that area to stay inside and lock their doors.
Flynn Elementary School and Eau Claire Memorial High School were both in the area where police were searching for the suspect. The school district confirmed both schools were in a secure hold, meaning no one could enter or leave the school buildings. The Eau Claire Area School District said was in communication with police.
